Well, it was an easy choice after all; we’re doing the short run today.  I’m struggling today and although Ken shows no signs of the cold, he has nondescript ‘not feeling too good’.

We’ve got more of the rolling agricultural fields, but today the hills are longer and steeper.  We don’t have the advantage of the tailwind either.  On a positive note the temperature is perfect, much cooler than a couple of days ago.

Our accommodation is a complete contrast to yesterday, with no mod cons at all.  With it being a short day, I had got myself all excited at the thought of being able to watch the Giro d’Italia all afternoon, only to discover that there is not a television in the whole place.  It is one of those sort of places where they are set up to immerse you into Spanish culture, with visits to olive oil mills or sampling tapas.  They probably frown on television.  I don’t feel the need to immerse myself, but I would have liked to have seen the cycle racing.  Oh well, never mind.
