So, half my wishes came true – Ken hasn’t got my cold yet, but I’m still sniffling and sneezing.
The weather is smiling on us though. It is not so hot and we have a tailwind. The countryside is all rolling hills and fields of cereals. Not particularly interesting but not too challenging either.

We’re heading east now, back towards home. We plan to be back for the weekend, although it depends on how many hills there are, headwinds and whether Ken catches the cold or not. Our stopping point for tonight is in the centre of Las Cabezas de San Juan where we have an apartment, not just a room, for the night. It has all mod cons including a washing machine! Such a luxury. It is a favoured stay for pilgrims walking the Cadiz to Seville section of the Camino de Santiago, so it is pretty well set up for long distance travellers. Whilst we wait for our washing to do we try to work out tomorrow’s route. It is a bit tricky trying to sort out where we can stay – we either have to do a short day of 40 kilometres to Montellano or a really long day of about 120 kilometres to Los Corrales. Accommodation is in short supply in both towns and in my haste to book somewhere I end up booking in both places for the same day. Duh!
