Full marks again – the weather forecast was correct – rain. We managed to get ourselves soaked to the skin walking round the city in the morning. We were keen to go into the ‘Prehistory and Archaeology Museum’, especially as it would have got us out of the rain, but it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Maybe we’ll make a visit on Wednesday between leaving our hotel and catching the ferry.

We already had a room full of wet washing hanging up to dry, to which we added the wet ‘off the bike’ gear when we got back and sat around with nothing to wear waiting for something to dry.  Whilst we were waiting I did some internet research on whether there was a Decathlon anywhere nearby, flappy soled cycling shoes have absolutely no water-resistant properties whatsoever.  There is one on the outskirts, apparently next to a MacDonalds – result!  The only downside is that it is about 5 kilometres away.  We’ll leave that one until tomorrow and hope for sunshine.
