The mission to Decathlon to buy new cycling shoes has to be aborted because today turns out to be a regional holiday in Castilla y Leon and so all the shops are closed.  What a disappointment. Still I’ve managed for this long so a bit longer won’t hurt.

Burgos, however, is no disappointment as it turns out to be a great city. We’ve looked round loads of things – the castle, including a tour of the tunnels below the castle, the cathedral, seen various arches and gateways, city walls, statues, plazas, gardens and churches; as well as walking along a bit of the Camino de Santiago.  Definitely worth a visit.  Even the weather behaves moderately well – sun and clouds for most of the day with the rain arriving later on in the evening.  Let’s hope we get the same tomorrow.
