We have decided to head for home using the easiest and most direct route we can. After the successful run on the main road yesterday we decide to continue along it for some 30 km or so before turning off from our planned route onto a road that should give us a fairly easy run for the rest of the day.
It is indeed fairly straight and pretty flat, but easy – no. We hadn’t counted on the wind which was strong and straight in our faces. We are in the Province of Castilla La Mancha travelling south through the famed plains of Spain again – surely, we should have the wind behind us this time – we had it in our faces all the way northwards back in April. Seems it doesn’t work like that but, nevertheless, we manage over 100 km and we are ever hopeful for an easier run tomorrow.
