We have a relaxing start to the day with coffee in McDonalds so that we can finish uploading photos and updating the journal entries.
We are soon back into feeling like cycling robots – we just don´t notice that we are cycling at all.
The sun is out and the cycling is easy. We travel for about 20 km along a cycle track which runs right alongside a canal, where huge working barges slowly make their way along, which, in turn, runs alongside a main road. We often see trains passing in the distance – Holland certainly has a ‘green’ transport policy and it looks like it is working, because of all the places we have been on the bikes so far, Holland seems to have the lightest amount of road traffic.
We have the feeling that after having more than a week off the bikes in Nottingham, followed by a few days of such easy cycling here in Holland, when the really difficult terrain starts again we’ll be hopeless.
The relaxed start to the day means it is later than normal when we arrive at a campsite for the night and all the staff have gone home. We adopt our ´stick the tent up and sort it out tomorrow rule´.
