It´s a cloudy and slightly breezy day as we set off again.
The first part of today´s ride is back across the rolling hills of Leicestershire – a bit hard on the legs and the lungs for the first few miles. The good thing is that we´re heading for Lincolnshire, which must be one of the flattest places on earth – completely and utterly flat as far as the eye can see. The breeze is a help part of the time and a hindrance the rest, depending on which way the road faces, but all in all, we are having a good first run (and Ken´s back seems to be OK).
We´re lucky to find a hotel in Spalding, which turns out to be a not particularly attractive place where we had started to wonder if we would find anywhere to stay – we can´t imagine that there are many tourists here. We´re very quickly getting back into the tour routine.
