We’re heading back inland to our planned route. The weather is warm, the roads quiet and gently undulating. We should be set fair for a good distance today.
We eat our lunch at a picnic spot in the grounds of a château, which we realise we have visited before about 20 years ago. I fall asleep in the warm sun, lying on a picnic bench. Once we set off again after lunch, the legs feel like two planks of wood and neither of us can really get going again – we must be tired. Although we have had a short day in between, it is actually about 10 days since our last full day off. We need to find a nice camp-site and take a full rest day.
Luck is with us; we make a short detour to a larger town and find a camp-site straight away. It is empty and in an idyllic setting, but no hot water – still you can’t have everything in life.
