Day 17 – Estella to Erro – 81 kms

005

April 18, 2011

Despite a lazy day yesterday, or perhaps because of it, we feel a bit sluggish today and can’t really find our rhythm.  The wind has changed direction today, but unfortunately so have we.  We are now going east below Pamplona towards the French border and have strong gusts of wind in our faces for part of the time.  The roads don’t help either because we have a lot of stopping and starting as we negotiate across several major road junctions.

Ken has a slight pain in his knee.  After he warned me at least 15 times not to fall over the guy ropes on the tent yesterday, a loud twanging noise, a thump and some swearing announced that he had managed to do just that, twisting his knee as he went.  However, none of this matters too much because he seems to have cured his squeak – the latest diagnosis is something to do with the seat post.  I wait in trepidation.
